The facsimiles are presented in a walnut wood cube. The edition contains two notebooks, a few sketches and a letter. For this reason, the Van Gogh Museum has decided to issue these four books as a facsimile. These sketchbooks are all part of the Van Gogh Museum collection, and are very rarely put on public display due to their vulnerability. Of the many sketchbooks that Van Gogh must have owned, only four from his years as an artist have stood the test of time. The unique facsimile edition of the sketchbooks is produced in a limited amount of 1000 units. Vincent van Gogh is best known for his colourful paintings, but he was also an accomplished draughtsman.
